Accessible Transport Service has been in the public plan in Hong Kong for the last few decades. Work has been done by the Government and service operators and much progress has become made. Until now, there are few evaluations while using different support operators through the private and public groups. residents. This case study is to accumulate information about the Government's policy and execution, the NGO's replies and support, and the support operator's watch and actions towards attainable transport services. The range covers:
Government Departments: (a) Commissioner of Rehabilitation, Labor and Wellbeing Bureau; (b) Ferry and Paratransit Label of Transport Section; (c) Interpersonal Welfare Division.
Service Operators: (a) Kowloon Motor unit Bus (1933) Ltd (Public Transport Operator); (b) Additional Medical Companies (Government); (c) Christian Family members Service Centre (NGO); (d) The Hk Society intended for Rehabilitation (NGO).
An Opinion Survey was arranged in 16 March вЂ“ 31 March 2010.
The customer survey includes the
perception of satisfaction level, improvements within the last 10 years, and expectations for the next 10 years via Service Operators for regional land available transport assistance, inclusive of: (a) public
transportation service which include Rail (Mass Transit Rail - MTR and the combined Kowloon Emplazamiento Rail Company. - KCRC) and Busses (franchised); and (b) specialised accessible transport services by NGO which include Rehabus Support (RB), Easy-Access Transport Support (ETS), and Accessible Hire Car Service (AHC).
The result of the interviews while using Government Departments and Service Employees are described in the succeeding sections. The findings reveal that each with the Service Operators has a different role to learn for available transport: (a) 90% with the population can be taking up touring by general public transport services. There is a clear need to jet up the facilities and system for People with Afflictions (PwD) and the elderly. Expenditure is in spot to carry forward with continuous improvements. (b) Specialized attainable service is available through [i] Rehabus Support вЂ“ subvented bus in order to provide door-to-door and specified destinations with the persons with disabilities (PwD). Rehabus services has been in procedure for 32 years. [ii] Ease-Access Transport Service вЂ“ taking seniors patients from their homes to public private hospitals and clinics as reported by Medical center Authority hospitals and treatment centers.
